COSMOLOGY

In Nordic mythology, it is known for nine worlds, of which the nine worlds are connected by the Yggdrasil tree. In Nordic mythology, the Yggdrasil tree is the center of the world. In the branches and roots there are different worlds, namely:

Asgard, the world of the irsir or the group of high gods and the most powerful. Asgard is located in the Yggdrasil branch on the top which is passed by the Urd Spring.

Vanaheim, the world of the Vanirs or the small Goddess class. The location is adjacent to Asgard in the neighborhood of the Gods.

Alfheim, the world of elves or a small race of fertility Gods.

Midgard, the human world as a world of immortal beings

Jötunheimr, the world of Jotun or giants

Svartálfheim, the world of the Svartálfar (English: Swart elfs / elves) or Dökkálfar (English: Dark elfs / elves) namely the elves of darkness

Niddhavellir, the world of Dwarves or dwarfs. They live in caves or underground as proficient miners and are skilled at making metal tools and weapons

Niflheim, cold underground world, home of the Jotun (giant) ice, controlled by Hel, Loki's sister

Muspell or Muspellheim, the world of fire and home to Surt, a giant whose skin is lava and his hair is fire.

RAGNAROK

There is one of the most famous events in the history of this Nordic myth, RAGNAROK. The real meaning of Ragnarok is 'fate of the gods' is the great battle (final battle) that takes place between the giants and monsters led by Loki against the gods and Einherjar led by Odin.

Signs Ragnarok will start:
The birth of the three most evil and most evil 'devils' are the children of Loki and the Angerboda. The three demons are Jormungand, Fenrir and Hel.
The late Balder is the brother of the thunder god Thor who is the second most beloved son of Odin and Frigg

In the course of this great war, the role of Valkyrie, the war goddess (numbering over 16 goddesses) played a role in selecting and gathering the spirits of the great warriors of the human world who had died in battle and were taken to Valhalla instead of Nifleheim.

Valhalla was the home of the bravest warriors of the heroes who were considered the bravest and greatest of their lives. To judge someone worthy of entry to Valhalla is the task of the Valkyrie. The spirit of the Valkyrie is called Eirhenjar, who will fight alongside the gods against the giants and monsters in Ragnarok. While in charge of leading and supervising the Einherjar practiced was the goddess Freya. Even Valkyrie had to submit to the command of the goddess Freya. Odin will be hosting his dinner tonight at Valhalla. Each of them ate the food that Odin ate, as soon as the wounds and stamina of the Eirhenjar were healed and ready to practice the war the next day.

The gods lived eternally because they ate the apple from the holy tree of Iðunn maintained by the goddess Idun (similar to the food of the nectar and ambrosia of the Greek gods) they did not grow old or die. But their lives were only temporary until Ragnarok arrived. In this battle, 8 out of 9 worlds were destroyed except for the untouched Niflheim world when Ragnarok took place. Only a few gods survived this battle, and even Odin and Loki were both killed in the great battle. The saved gods eventually went on to create a new world for the gods and humans as they are today.

War Story Flow

Ragnarok (Destiny of the gods)

This term means the end of the gods and also the end of the world. Ragnarok is a decisive battle between the race of giants and the race of gods that has been in captivity for hundreds and possibly even thousands of years. All the hatred that has existed since the world was first created by the gods will end here.

The battle between the gods led by Odin and the Jotuns led by Loki, the battle took place in the open field called VIGRID, the battle resulted in the deaths of almost all living beings, and the devastation of the fire that resulted in the destruction of 8 of the 9 worlds, and only a few can survive.
The Beginning of Ragnarok ..

In fact, the gods have come to know about the prophecy of ragnarok, one of the signs of the birth of three powerful demons throughout history: fenrir, jormungandr, and hel. because they predicted that they would kill the gods unmatched. because when they were little the gods threw them away. The fenrir was chained and smoked, the jormungandr was thrown into the sea, the helm was thrown to the underworld (niflheim).

The second sign was the death of the god Balder, which led to Loki being directly involved in the tragedy (his story elsewhere), Loki being punished by being tied to a stone in niflheim and waiting there for the arrival of ragnarok.

The trump of the great war will be preceded by a number of signs, including the worst winter ever known or known as FIMBULVETR, which has brought ice and darkness for 3 consecutive years without interruption. Disputes and hostilities will occur between families, and friends, and there will be no morality and justice in society.

Then from IRONWOOD, 2 wolves of Skoll and Hearts chasing the moon and the sun will be able to catch them and eat them, and shed blood of sol and semen on the earth, the stars will disappear from the sky The world will be in total darkness.
The next catastrophe will be the massive Earthquake that caused it, the FENRIR giant wolf escaping from its fortress, and ready to take revenge on its deceased gods. on the other hand the main actor is freed too. and Garm the hellish dog is finally released by the helm, evil and devastation to the earth.

Next Jotun's guardian EGGTHER will play his harp, and Flajar the red chick will shout to the jockeys and GULLINKAMBI will chant to tell the gods in asgard, and the third chick will roar to raise the dead in niflheim.

The waves of the sea came high and crushed the reefs, a sign that the great Jormundgand the Midgardsormr would travel ashore to hear the call of his father. In his attempt to reach this land he will cause several disasters, including the poison that may be emitted by each breath of his will poison the heavens and the earth.

From the jotunheim will come out the dreaded vessel Naglfar, made of the nails of the dead, this vessel commanded by the Frost giant Hymir, will take the Frost giants to the battlefield.

Elsewhere inside Nifleheim itself will launch a ship carrying all the inhabitants of hell including a four-eyed giant dog and a blood-stained body that is Garm, the guardian dog of hell. The battleship was led by the freed Loki, along with Hel and Nidhogg who flew to the battlefield to pick up the corpse. and vowed to take revenge for his suffering during niflheim.

From the south of Muspellheim, the fiery Surt and all his followers will depart. Surt carries his large sword made of fire and radiates more light than the sun.

In Asgard himself, Heimdall who saw all this would sound his trumpet calling GIALAR calling on all the sons of Odin and the other gods. From Valhalla would march eight hundred Einherjar to join the gods. All good beings are dwarves, elves, monsters, humans, and gods who will head to the Vigrid field for a battle that will end everything.

The gods will face their respective enemies. The battle of these two powerful beings reminds us of the resemblance to Greek myths, of the war of the gods Olympus with the giant group Titan. It may be that giants are the only opponents to the gods.

As soon as they all gathered in the large Vigrid fields, the war began. Surt immediately seeks out the unarmed Freyr, as his sword has been given to his wife GERDA. This god will soon be killed by a fire attack, Surt.

Meanwhile, the war god Tyr had only one hand, but he was able to fight Garm hell's dog. Tyr will come out victorious in this fight, but unfortunately he also has to die from his wounds.

Thor himself will find Jormundgand to finish it off. Thor's duel with Jormundgand is exciting, where Thor finally kills this poisonous snake. But just like Tyr he also has to die slowly because of the deadly Jormundgand poison.

Loki on the other hand will face heavy rival Heimdall. It was Heimdall who always thwarted Loki's attempts to escape his past crimes. This fight is a lot of fun because they both have a great deal of hatred. But both will die in this battle.

The infamous battle is between Odin and the giant wolf Fenrir. The duel between them lasted day and night for days. An Odin armed with a Gungnir will face Fenrir with a sharp fangs and strong energy.

After a few days of fighting Odin finally lost at the hands of Fenrir. The wolf then devoured Odin's body with his big mouth. Vidar, who is also Odin's son, saw the incident. With fury, he immediately jumped to Fenrir. Using only his hands he ripped open Fenrir's jaw, killing the creature for a moment.

After the war has been going on for a long time, the Surt fire giants without regard for their opponents or friends will set fire to the Yggdrasil tree. With that fiery sword he began to burn the whole world to ruin everything, making the world sink to the ocean. Only a few beings and gods will survive.

After the devastation caused by Ragnarok, where the fires from the surt burned down 8 worlds (niflheim unreachable Surt fires). 2 humans appeared, trees began to grow, and a new world was created.

Before being eaten by Skoll, Sol had a daughter who would bring the light of the sun, with the new sun, even the darkness disappeared, bringing a new day to the world, the fields were planted without seed.

Among the survivors were two human beings: the Elevator and the Elevator. According to the story they survived the destruction of the world by fleeing to the Hodmimir Forest. one of Surt's most inaccessible swords. They both fell asleep during the rest of the Ragnarok war.

As soon as they wake up they will become the forerunners of the new human beings in this world. From something ruined always comes something new and useful. Likewise the end of Ragnarok is the beginning of a new world. The grasslands are green, the soil is fertile, the resources are abundant.

The new era of the gods began with Vidar and Vali succeeding, as well as Modi and Magni who inherited their father's hammer MJOLLNIR. Balder returns with Hodur of NIflheim. Vili and Ve, the younger brother of the exiles fled to IDAVOLL and built a palace there GIMLE.

And in niflheim there is a fortress called NASTROND, a cemetery of the dead. with all its doors facing north, its walls made of snake bodies, which can be poisonous to the river that surrounds the fort, this is a new underworld dominated by the successful NIDHOGG, which devours the bodies of assassins and thieves.

Humans and gods and other living beings will live in harmony and together all hatred will disappear. The myth of Ragnarok usually only comes here, never being told if thousands of years later will happen again.

THE END
